HA NOI (VNS) — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said he appreciated the discussion between the visiting Prince Andrew of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Viet Nam's Ministry of Planning and Investment during a reception yesterday.
The PM believed the Prince's ideas would soon become a reality, further accelerating the strategic partnership between the two countries.
PM Dung asserted that Viet Nam attached much importance to and expected practical and effective co-operation with the UK in all areas, especially in the economy, trade and investment because of their huge potential.
"The successful implementation of ideas to support business start-ups and the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as connection between two sides' businesses, will improve bilateral trade and investment," said Dung.
"Viet Nam appreciates these efforts as they will facilitate the development of enterprises, through which economic development will be sustained."
The prince said that with his experience and network in the field, he would have more discussions with relevant Vietnamese bodies, as well as business circles from both countries, on ideas and action plans to realise these ideas the following year.
Results of the talks would help formulate and develop policy and legal frameworks to support business start-ups and the development of SMEs under the reality and business environment of Viet Nam, he said.
Prince Andrew said he would seek new co-operation ideas and opportunities in order to boost the strategic bilateral partnership in all fields. —VNS
