Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung described the Viet Nam – Germany University project as a "lighthouse" in the two countries' ties while receiving Minister for Science and the Arts of Germany's Hessen State Boris Rhein in Ha Noi yesterday.
He thanked the European nation for helping Viet Nam build and put the university into operation and expressed his hope for further assistance to the school's operations in order to ensure its success in training high-quality manpower.
The leader also expressed his voiced pleasure at the progress in the Viet Nam – Germany strategic partnership, pledging concerted efforts to join Germany in developing bilateral relations in an effective fashion, particularly co-operation in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education and science-technology.
At the meeting, Rhein spoke highly of Viet Nam's comprehensive socio-economic accomplishments along with its moves to renovate education in line with international standards, adding that Hessen would strengthen co-ordination with the countries' ministries and sectors to realise joint agreements and programmes, including extending support for the successful operation of the Viet Nam – Germany University. — VNS
