HA NOI (VNS) — President of the Belgian Senate Christine Defraigne will lead a high-ranking delegation on an official visit to Viet Nam in the first week of November.
The NA's Committee for External Relations said the visit is made at the invitation of National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
Viet Nam and Belgium began their diplomatic relationship in 1973. After Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit to the country in October last year, relations have accelerated.
Belgium is now Viet Nam's sixth largest trading partner in the EU with bilateral trade currently over US$2.3 billion and annual growth around 27.4 per cent. — VNS
