HA NOI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave a reception in Ha Noi on August 25 for  Japan's Parliamentary Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Youji Mutou, who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.

The Deputy PM described the visit by Youji Mutou and his entourage as a vivid demonstration of the fine friendship between the two countries.

He noted with delight the strong development in the bilateral ties, especially since the two countries elevated their relationship to a new level of the Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.

Viet Nam wishes to ceaselessly deepen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Japan, considering this a top priority in the country's foreign policy, the official said.

Japan is Viet Nam's leading economic partner, he said, adding that cooperation in official development assistance (ODA), trade and investment has effectively contributed to the country's socio-economic development.

Hailing the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam and Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the official suggested the Japanese side continue to assist Viet Nam in organising training courses for its officials, helping improve their capacity in inspection and administrative complaint settlement.

In response, Youji Mutou briefed his host on the content of his talks with the Vietnamese Government Inspector.
