HA NOI (VNS) — Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has asked the Commission for Inspection of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee to closely co-ordinate and regularly share experience in inspections and anti-corruption work.

At a reception for Bunthoong Chitmany, head of the LPRP Central Committee's Commission for Inspection in Ha Noi yesterday, the Party chief also urged the two sides to assist each other in personnel training.

He said the Party, State and people of Viet Nam would work with their Lao counterparts to preserve and nurture the special solidarity between the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world at large.

Congratulating Laos on the major achievements the country has made in recent years, the Party said he hoped that under the leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people would meet the targets set at the ninth National Party Congress and successfully organise the 10th National Party Congress.

He also used the occasion to inform his guest about Viet Nam's preparations for the upcoming 12th National Party Congress.

Bunthoong Chitmany briefed his host on the situation in Laos, preparations for the 10th National Party Congress and the outcome of talks with the CPVCC's Commission for Inspection and the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam.

He promised to work closely with the two Vietnamese agencies to implement high-level agreements between the two countries.

Earlier, the Lao delegation held talks with delegates from the CPVCC's Commission for Inspection, during which the two sides reviewed their collaboration and discussed co-operation orientations for the future. They also shared experience in inspections, discipline and anti-corruption efforts. — VNS
