HA NOI (VNS) — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said he hoped outgoing German Ambassador Jutta Frasch would continue doing his part to further the relationship between Viet Nam and Germany in the future, given the extensive knowledge he gleaned about the country and its people during his tenure.

The two countries had massive co-operative potential, the PM said during a reception for the ambassador in Ha Noi yesterday.

He reiterated Viet Nam's goal of deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Germany, a long-time supplier of official development assistance to Viet Nam, was also one of the country's leading investors and trade partners, the host said.

Frasch said he appreciated the progress ties with Viet Nam had made and that he backed the country's bid to co-operate more with the EU. He added that he hoped Viet Nam would continue providing all possible support to German businesses operating in the country.

On the Vietnamese–German University project, the host gave a nod to the ambassador's proposal to issue a government-level agreement that would provide continued support for its development.

He also requested more close collaboration on the German House project. — VNS
