VIENNA  (VNS) — Supreme Court Chief Judge Truong Hoa Binh and Austrian Vice President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Elisabeth Lovrek, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on bilateral co-operation between the two countries' judicial bodies.

The MoU covers increased bilateral exchanges and co-operation on judicial information, training of judges and judicial reform.

Binh, who is leading a delegation of high-ranking court officials on an official visit to Austria from July 8-11, said the MOU would facilitate high-level exchanges and experience sharing in judicial reform, improving judicial practices on both sides.

During the visit, the delegation also held a working session with Yuri Fedotov, the United Nations's Under General Secretary and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The director lauded Viet Nam's co-operation with the UNODC and confirmed the organisation's support in the fight against drug trafficking and organised crime. — VNS
