HA NOI (VNS) — The Government pledged to support Vietnamese and Lao inspectorates increase cooperation in investigation and settlement of complaints in anti-corruption efforts.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke with Vice President of the Lao Government Inspectorate, Bounpone Sangsomsak, in Ha Noi yesterday, stating the efforts were an onerous but important task.

"Viet Nam is willing to help the Government Inspectorate receive and train their Lao counterparts each year," he said, adding that the two countries are working to deliver on the commitments their leaders made at the 37th Viet Nam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee meeting last January.

The guest, Sangsomsak, informed the host of the outcomes of his talks with Vietnamese government inspectorates.

Phuc described 2016 as a significant year, as each nation heads into their National Party congresses to elect a new generation of country leaders.
