HA NOI (VNS) — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will attend the 26th ASEAN Summit held next week in the Malaysian cities of Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi.
He has been invited to attend the two-day (April 26-27) meeting by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
The 25th ASEAN Summit took place in capital Nay Pyi Taw of Myanmar last November.
Founded in August 1967, ASEAN consists of 10 member countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
He said Viet Nam had recorded remarkable achievements in national defence and construction over the last four decades, but it also faced challenges in strengthening the Party, promoting socio-economic development and improving living conditions. — VNS
