HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang also met yesterday with Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Semjen Zsolt and Deputy Speaker of the nation's National Assembly Latorcal Jano, both of whom are in Ha Noi to attend the IPU-132.
Sang said Hungarian participation in the IPU-132 was an important contribution to the event's success as well as the development of bilateral ties.
Viet Nam will do its utmost to intensify links between Hungary and ASEAN, he added.
He expressed gratitude for Hungary's support to Viet Nam in the past and at the present.
Deputy PM Semjen Zsolt pledged Hungary's backing for Viet Nam's market economy status as well as the nation's assistance in free trade agreement negotiations with the EU.
He described Viet Nam as Hungary's strategic partner in Asia and expressed pleasure at numerous joint-projects implemented in Viet Nam, including healthcare and water treatment.
Also yesterday, Vietnamese Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai and Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, hosted receptions for the Hungarian delegation. — VNS
