HA NOI (VNS) — In separate receptions, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung received Pakistan's National Assembly Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Morocco's President of the House of Councillors Mohamed Cheik Biadillah in Ha Noi yesterday.

Hung stressed Viet Nam's foreign policy of self-reliance and preparedness to make friends with countries for the sake of co-operation and mutual development, and requested Pakistan's support for the Ha Noi Declaration expected to be issued at the end of the IPU.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi said the IPU-132 was a fundamental step forward in boosting co-operation among legislatures, including ties between Pakistan and Viet Nam.

Hung told Mohamed Cheik Biadillah that he valued the impending signing of trade promotion deals between the two countries, saying they would lay a solid foundation for expansion of mutually-beneficial bilateral ties.

Cheik Biadillah said that the potential for bilateral co-operation between Morocco and Viet Nam remained mostly untapped. He said Morocco enjoyed advantages in trade and international maritime transport that offered promising opportunities for Vietnamese investors.
