HA NOI (VNS) — Kazaakhstan's Lower House Speaker Zhakupov Kabibolla Kabenovich began an official visit to Viet Nam yesterday at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

At talks held yesterday, Chairman Hung welcomed Kabenovich's visit and his attendance at the IPU-132 and said that the National Assembly and Vietnamese people wished to deepen the ties between Viet Nam and Kazakhstan.

He suggested the two sides work together to increase bilateral trade, noting that the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union would open huge co-operation opportunities for the two countries.

The National Assembly and Government would create favourable conditions for Kazakh businesses to operate in Viet Nam, he said, adding that the visit was expected to start closer co-operation between the two countries' parliaments.

The Kazakh lawmaker suggested the two countries promote co-operation in engineering, shipbuilding and industry.

He invited Vietnamese businesses to attend the EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan to expand trade ties with foreign partners. — VNS
