HA NOI (VNS)— National Assembly (NA) Vice-chairman, Huynh Ngoc Son, said Viet Nam placed high importance on forging multifaceted co-operation with Switzerland.
He was speaking to a Swiss Parliament delegation led by Federal Council member Pierre-Francois Veillon in Ha Noi yesterday.
The Swiss delegation's participation in the 132nd Inter Parliamentary Union Assembly signifies Switzerland's friendship and good sentiment towards the Vietnamese NA, Son told his guest.
He also hailed the growth of the relationship in various realms, from politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, development, education training, and health care.
The NA Vice-chairman pledged to create favorable conditions for Swiss firms to do business in Viet Nam and trusted that Switzerland would continue supporting Viet Nam at international forums.
He suggested the two sides strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels to deepen understanding and also to support Viet Nam in legislative and supervisory activities.
Veillon said he was impressed by Viet Nam's preparation for the event that he believed would be a great success. — VNS
