HA NOI (VNS) —The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) has sent greetings to the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) to mark the 60th anniversary of the Lao Party (March 22, 1955).
The message praised the LPRP's leadership in the Lao struggle for national liberation, national building and development, adding that this had contributed to the country's prestige and status in the international arena.
"The CPV and the Vietnamese people warmly congratulate the LPRP and Lao people for the important and comprehensive accomplishments they have made," the message read.
It said the successes were significant in national defence and development and contributed to strengthening special solidarity with Viet Nam.
The successes also added to the maintenance of peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world.
The CPV Central Committee said the special relationship between Viet Nam and Laos was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and his counterparts Caysone Phomvihan and Souphanouvong.
The CPV said it also valued ongoing support from the Lao Party, State and People, adding that the Vietnamese Party, State and people would do their utmost to elevate the solidarity.
The same day, CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent flower baskets to the LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Saynhasone, and former Party chief and former President Khamtay Siphandone.
A member of the CPV Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations, Hoang Binh Quan, sent greetings to Lao Party Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, head of the LPRP Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith. — VNS
