HA NOI (VNS) — Venezuelan Vice President Elias Jose Jaua Milano has affirmed his country's commitment to making it easier, in terms of conditions and financial support, to enter joint oil, gas and agricultural projects with Viet Nam.
The affirmation came after Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung spoke about the difficulties facing Vietnamese investments in Venezuela – particularly in the oil and gas industry – at his reception for the vice president in Ha Noi yesterday.
The vice president said President Nicolas Maduro had committed to overcoming obstacles the two countries faced in their co-operation on oil and gas.
Dung said Viet Nam was determined to pump more investments into oil and gas in Venezuela, while calling for the South American country's support for an energy-saving light production project there.
He pledged full support for a future agriculture partnership with Venezuela, in response to the vice president's wish for assistance in the field.
He also affirmed that Viet Nam would always back the constitutional Government of Venezuela and wished for the country's stability and development.
Milano said at the freshly-ended meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee that the two sides had reached a consensus on re-launching important joint projects. — VNS
