HA NOI (VNS) — In its March 9-17 session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will discuss several key issues, including preparations for the upcoming 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
It will ask questions of the Chief Judge of the Supreme People's Court, Truong Hoa Binh, on unjust verdicts handed down by courts and ways to address the problem.
It will also question Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Affairs, Giang Seo Phu, on the implementation of the National Programme 135 that aims to help extremely-disadvantaged communes escape poverty.
Other issues the NA committee will discuss and debate include the apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy and capital invested constructing the Tinh Phong-Dung Quat 2 road in the central province of Quang Ngai.
On the committee's legislative agenda are the 2016 programme on law and ordinances, a draft report on the revised law on Viet Nam Fatherland Front and the law on promulgation of legal documents.
Also on the agenda are proposals on possible changes to the laws on auditing, statistics compilation, administrative and civil regulations as well as supervisory activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils.
The committee will also consider a government's report on establishing and adjusting administrative boundaries below the provincial level and the issuance of an amended resolution on environmental tax. — VNS
