HA NOI (VNS) – The head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, Hoang Binh Quan, held talks with his Lao counterpart Thoonglun Sisulith in Ha Noi yesterday on ways to enhance the joint work of the two commissions in the coming years.
Thoonglun Sisulith, a Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Laos, thanked his Vietnamese hosts for their warm welcome.
It was a pleasure to visit Viet Nam in the first days of the Lunar New Year, he said.
Quan hailed the three-day visit of the Lao delegation, saying that it would contribute to furthering comprehensive co-operation between the two commissions and boost the special ties that the two countries enjoy.
Both sides updated each other on the situation of their respective parties and countries and discussed specific measures and orientations to effectively realise agreements reached by senior leaders of the two parties and states.
They also discussed regional and international issues of common concern. — VNS
