HA NOI (VNS) — The third Viet Nam-Japan defence policy dialogue took place in Ha Noi on January 29, covering world and regional issues of mutual interest and assessing bilateral defence cooperation over the recent past.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, while Vice Defence Minister Tokuchi Hideshi headed the Japanese delegation.

The two sides agreed that the two ministries will maintain defence policy dialogues at deputy ministerial level while continue to exchange delegations at different levels. They will also assist each other in personnel training and share experience in coping with natural disasters, conducting search and rescue and overcoming consequences of bombs and mines left by the war.
