HA NOI (VNS) — Promoting solidarity, friendship, mutual understanding and interpersonal exchange between Viet Nam and China was crucial to developing the bilateral comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership in a stable and healthy fashion, President Truong Tan Sang said yesterday at a reception in Ha Noi for Chairwoman of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) Li Xiaolin.
He said the Vietnamese Party, State and people attached great importance to the neighbourliness, friendship and comprehensive co-operation with their Chinese counterparts.
The two sides expected to maintain regular high-level delegation exchanges, realise commitments in certain fields, address disputes and develop co-operation for the benefit of the two countries, the region and the world. This was the consistent and long-term policy of Viet Nam, the President reiterated.
Li recalled the China visits by late former President Ho Chi Minh in May 1955 and by President Sang in November 2014 and highlighted a number of friendship activities marking the 65th anniversary of Viet Nam-China diplomatic ties this year.
She pledged to promote the role of the CPAFFC and the China-Viet Nam Friendship Association in organising interpersonal exchange activities to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the two nations for mutual development.
The same day, the Chinese guest was welcomed by Chairman of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong.
They expressed hope that the VUFO and the CPAFFC would design and implement activities to fortify amity between the people of China and Viet Nam. — VNS
