HA NOI (VNS) — Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong received delegations in Ha Noi yesterday from the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC).
The Lao delegation – led by Vilayvong Bouddakham, First Secretary of the LPRYU Central Committee – and the Cambodian delegation – led by Hun Many, UYFC President – are in Viet Nam for a four-day conference that aims to create a bigger role for young people in fostering relations among the three countries. The conference, which opened yesterday, brought together 60 young people.
Phong said the conference would help younger generations learn about the three countries' traditional friendship. Viet Nam has always facilitated interaction among young people, to enhance their experiences and co-operation in the interests of the Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian people, Phong said.
Young people will continue to increase the quality of existing co-operation programmes and expand fields of collaboration, she said.
