BERLIN (VNS) – Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan paid a working visit to Germany from October 5-11 to seek ways to improve the teaching of the Vietnamese and German languages as well as bilateral co-operation in vocational training.
At a working session with Stenfan Muller - Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Ministry for Education and Research, the Vietnamese official thanked Germany for its assistance to the Vietnam-German University in Viet Nam, and asked for continued support for the school.
Meeting with Maria Bohmer - Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, Minister Luan said the co-operation agreement to teach German and Germany's "Schools: Partners for the Future" initiative were being fully implemented, adding that the framework programme for teaching German would be officially applied in the near future.
The two sides also spoke about a pilot training programme for Vietnamese nurses in Germany, and agreed on a comprehensive review of the model.
German officials are scheduled to visit Viet Nam in early December to look at the issue in more detail. — VNS
