HA NOI (VNS) – President Truong Tan Sang said farewell to the outgoing Qatari Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mohamed Bin Jaber Abdullah Alsulaiti, in Ha Noi yesterday.

The President praised the ambassador's three-year mission, which he said contributed significantly to the co-operation between the two countries on trade, economy, labour and investment, most notably Qatar's US$1 billion oil refinery project in Viet Nam.

Sang proposed the two partners continue their exchange of high-ranking delegations to strengthen the mutual ties.

He also said he hoped Qatar would support Viet Nam's candidacy for the UN Economic and Social Council in 2016-18, the UN Security Council in 2020-21 and UNESCO's Executive Council in 2015-19.

Sang asked the ambassador to extend an invitation to the King of Qatar to visit Viet Nam.
