HA NOI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received the Special Ambassador between Viet Nam and Japan, Sugi Ryotaro, in Ha Noi yesterday.

Minh praised Ryotaro's contributions to the development of the Viet Nam-Japan friendship and co-operation over the past 20 years, and acknowledged his active role as Special Ambassador between Viet Nam and Japan.

He expressed his hope that Ryotaro would continue to contribute to the enhancement of the Vietnamese-Japanese strategic partnership.

For his part, the Japanese guest promised to spare no efforts to enhance the friendship and co-operation between the two nations, particularly with regard to culture and people-to-people exchanges.

He informed his host on plans to create a Japan-Viet Nam music TV show and organise a number of other cultural activities, aiming to improve the cultural understanding and exchange between the two peoples. — VNS
