HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam was willing to create the best possible conditions for long-term investments from the Republic of Korea (RoK), said Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on Saturday.

The Vietnamese Government welcomed co-operative initiatives proposed by the RoK government and businesses, Dam said, while receiving the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea's National Assembly, Ahn Hoong Joon.

He expressed his satisfaction at the strong development of the two countries' strategic co-operative partnership in various fields, especially trade and investment.

Dam highly valued recent co-operation between the two legislative bodies based on the exchange of high-ranking delegations and experience sharing.

He also thanked the Korean National Assembly for its active support and protection for Vietnamese citizens living in the RoK.

For his part, Ahn Joong Hoon praised the Vietnamese community's contribution to his nation's socio-economic development.

He said the two countries should strengthen co-operation in education and IT development, areas in which the RoK has particular expertise. — VNS
