PM meets with ambassadors

HA NOI (VNS)— Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung bid farewell yesterday to the outgoing Thai ambassador, while welcoming the newly appointed Indian ambassador.

Meeting with Thailand's Ambassador Anuson Chinvanno, who called on him before concluding his tenure in Viet Nam, Prime Minister Dung spoke highly of the ambassador's contributions to fostering friendly and co-operative ties between the two nations.

Dung stressed the importance of the partnership between Viet Nam and Thailand and reiterated that Viet Nam would continue working to bring the relations to a new level for the mutual benefit of both countries.

For his part, Ambassador Anuson Chinvanno emphasised new developments in the friendly and co-operative ties between Viet Nam and Thailand and thanked Viet Nam for creating favourable conditions for him to fulfill his tasks.

Receiving Indian Ambassador Preeti Saran, Dung congratulated the ambassador on his new post and praised bilateral co-operation between Viet Nam and India.

Indian Ambassador Preeti Saran said he will try to foster the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and India and hoped for the establishment of a direct air route between the two countries. — VNS
