RABAT (VNS) — Viet Nam attaches great importance to its comprehensive relations with African countries, including Morocco, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phuong Nga has said.
She made the remark during the third Viet Nam-Morocco Intergovernmental Commission Meeting and the fourth political consultation meeting between the two foreign ministries in Rabat on December 9-10.
At the meetings, Deputy FM Nga lauded the developments in bilateral ties between Vietnam and Morocco over past years and asked for further cooperation, particularly in the fields matching the two's strengths.
For her part, Moroccan Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouiada spoke highly of the achievements Viet Nam has made during the country's construction and development, while pressing the importance of bilateral collaboration in the framework of the South-South cooperation.
The two sides discussed ways to boost two-way trade, creating conditions for the two countries' key products to enter each other's market.
Viet Nam can export coffee, pepper, aquaculture products, telephone and spare parts, footwear and garment-textiles, while the African country is strong at fertiliser, computer and pharmaceutical products.
They agreed to push the implementation of previously signed agreements and the signing of new deals in investment, customs, experience sharing in sea and air port security, transport, agro-aquaculture, construction and education-training.
On the occasion, the Moroccan government also recognised the full market economy of Viet Nam.
During her visit, Nga met with First Vice President of Moroccan House of Representative Faouzi Ben Allal, and Minister of Housing and Urban Policy Mohammed Nabil Benabdallah.
As a member of the Viet Nam's delegation to Morocco, Deputy Director General of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Le Duy Truyen took the occasion to visit the headquarters of Morocco's News Agency MAP in Rabat.
At his meeting with MAP Director General Khalil Hachimi Idrisi, Truyen and the host reviewed the cooperation between the two agencies over the past year, and agreed to step up the implementation of their signed deals, especially in exchanges of news and photos, TV stories and reporters.
The MAP Director General pledged support in training French language for VNA reporters and proposed signing an agreement to expand cooperation between the two agencies.—VNA/VNS
