HA NOI (VNS)  — Viet Nam strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Yemeni Defence Ministry Complex on Thursday that left many dead and injured, said Foreign Ministry's spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi.

The spokesman made the statement yesterday in response to reporters' queries.

He also extended condolences to the families of the victims, saying that the attackers must be properly punished.

Regarding information that two Vietnamese doctors lost their lives in the assault, the Foreign Ministry said it had immediately contacted the International Organisation for Migration and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, asking for their help in investigating the report.

It also requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Yemen to verify the information.

According to the Foreign Ministry, by 5pm yesterday these two victims had still not been identified.
