HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam would work harder with Russia to reinforce multifaceted co-operation between the two countries, particularly in energy.
The statement was made by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during a meeting with Alexander V Dyukov, CEO of the Russian oil and gas group Gazprom Neft, in Ha Noi yesterday.
The PM said he was pleased at the outcomes of co-operation between Gazprom Neft and the Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in the past.
He said Viet Nam highly valued the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing it as a landmark event that would enhance the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.
Dung said the Vietnamese Government's support for co-operation between oil and gas enterprises of the two countries was in the interests of both sides and bolstered multifaceted ties.
Dyukov explained the significant outcomes of his firm's co-operation with PetroVietnam, adding that he hoped the Vietnamese Government would continue to facilitate Gazprom Neft's expansion in Viet Nam. — VNS
