BRUSSELS (VNS)— Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for National Defence and Security Nguyen Kim Khoa has said Viet Nam wants to learn from Belgium's experience in participating in international security activities.
The Vietnamese politician was attending the talks with Chairman of the Belgian Chamber of Representative's Defence Committee Filip De Man in Brussels on Tuesday.
At separate meetings with the Belgian Central Committee for Counter-terrorism and special units of the Ministry of the Interior, the Vietnamese delegation were exposed to the organisation and deployment of fire fighting and anti-terrorism forces in Belgium and Europe.
The Belgian authorities pledged further co-operation with Viet Nam in the field of public security and defence.
Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation met with representatives from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) to request commencing a defence and security dialogue with Viet Nam. — VNS
