President welcomes Cuba's chief judge

HA NOI (VNS)— President Truong Tan Sang has said that co-operation and experience sharing between the judicial sectors of Viet Nam and Cuba is crucial and significant.

President Sang made the remarks at a meeting with visiting President of the Cuban People's Supreme Court Ruben Remigio Ferro in Ha Noi yesterday, stressing the important role of the judicial sector to socio-economic management in each country.

He also expressed his delight at the fruitful co-operation between the two countries in all fields, and affirmed that the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Vietnamese State and people would always stand by the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban State and people during their cause of national construction and defence.

Despite the changing global situation, the friendship and co-operation between Viet Nam and Cuba would stay unchanged, the President said.

He also hoped that Cuba would successfully implement their resolution on national development.

Ruben Remigio Ferro said Cuba appreciated and was proud to have Viet Nam as a loyal friend during its national construction and defence process.

He briefed his host on the major developments in his country, especially the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.

During his visit, leaders of the judicial sectors of both countries will swap their experiences in building and improving national legislative systems, contributing to the successful construction of a society with justice and equality for all citizens. — VNS
