HCM CITY (VNS)— Ambassador Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mijrin Al-Roumy, director of the Asian Department at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Deputy Chairwoman of the HCM City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hong on Monday.
Al-Roumy said Kuwait would like to boost investment in Viet Nam and hoped to witness further increase in bilateral trade.
He also called on Vietnamese investors to join Kuwait's US$21 billion 10-year economic development plan, and said the city should send businessmen to Kuwait to meet with their Kuwaiti counterparts and explore the market.
He also hoped for further academic co-operation between the two countries.
Hong said the city, which became sister cities with Kuwait's AI- Ahmadi Governorate in 2010, wished to strengthen ties with Kuwait in the fields of trade, investment, and tourism.
She also suggest that Kuwaiti firms should open representative offices in the city and promising them full support in organising exhibitions. — VNS
