HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam always attached importance to and wished to further enhance co-operation with Germany, said Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

Doan was talking with visiting Chairman of Germany's Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Ruprecht Polenz in Ha Noi yesterday.

She affirmed Viet Nam's commitment to using the German ODA effectively in prioritised areas such as coping with climate change, sustainable development, vocational training and healthcare.

Host and guest considered the German House in HCM City and the Viet Nam-Germany University as symbols for co-operation between the two countries.

Also the same day, Polenz was received by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, during which the Vietnamese leader expressed his thanks to the German Government for creating favourable conditions for over 130,000 overseas Vietnamese to live and work in the country.

As an active ASEAN member, Viet Nam was ready to work as a bridge between Germany and the group, he affirmed. — VNS
