HA NOI (VNS)— Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said Viet Nam needed support from the international community and the Republic of Korea in particular, in order to fulfill its goal of becoming a modern industrialised country by 2020. He made the statement at a meeting with Yoon Dae-hee, former Minister of the Office for Government Policy Co-ordination of South Korea in Ha Noi yesterday.

Phuc voiced his hope that the two sides would further boost trade co-operation this year as South Korean businesses continue to show their interest in large-scale projects in Viet Nam.

Yoon Dae-hee, who is also a legal advisor for many large Korean companies investing in Viet Nam, spoke highly of Viet Nam's policies to reign in inflation, stabilise the macro-economy and ensure social security.

He affirmed that he would continue to foster Viet Nam-South Korea co-operation to deepen ties between the two countries. — VNS
