BUENOS AIRES (VNS)— The government of Peru will open an embassy in Viet Nam as part of its policy to strengthen friendship, co-operation and political dialogue.
A statement in Peru's official gazette on Wednesday said the move was one of Lima's efforts to consolidate its "strategic presence" in the Asia-Pacific and continue to expand diplomatic and trade ties with Southeast Asian nations. The statement said Viet Nam was an important nation in Southeast Asia, which served as a bridge for expanding business operations to other regions.
Viet Nam was also an important market that helped Peru boost its relations in the Asia-Pacific region, it said. — VNS
