HA NOI (VNS)— The Algeria-Viet Nam Parliamentarian Friendship Group was formally established at a ceremony held in the capital city of Algiers on Wednesday.
The ceremony was chaired by Mohamed Djemai, Vice President of the Algerian National Assembly, who emphasised the role the group would play in trengthening the friendship and traditional partnership between the two countries.
The establishment of the group would create favourable conditions for co-operation between the two National Assemblies in legislative, political, economic and social issues, he added.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria, Do Trong Cuong, expressed his belief that the group would help broaden bilateral co-operation in various fields.
Parliamentarian Lahcen Maaloum of the ruling Algerian National Liberation Front (AFN), who was appointed the group's President, pledged to foster friendship between the two countries. — VNS
