HA NOI (VNS)– The Prime Minister of Haiti, Laurent Salvador Lamothe, left Ha Noi yesterday after successfully concluding his official visit to Viet Nam.
The high-level visit was the first of its kind by a leader from the republic, making it a historically significant moment in the shared history of the two nations, who are currently celebrating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
Lamonthe and his host, Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung agreed to exchange more high-level delegations in the future to continue the good work.
The leaders declared their determination to consolidate and extend their work together in political, economic and cultural fields in the near future.
Both PMs signed a Viet Nam-Haiti Joint Communique.
The Haitian leader voiced his hope that Viet Nam and its neighbours maintain an environment of peace and stability and do their upmost to settle disputes in the East Sea through peaceful negotiations. — VNS
