HA NOI (VNS)— Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highlighted Viet Nam's commitment to constantly co-operating with the Netherlands in infrastructure, investment and environmental management during his visit to the country on Wednesday.
At a meeting with the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Melanie Schultz van Haegen, Hai expressed his wish that the Netherlands will keep assisting and facilitating the expansion of its enterprises and agencies in Viet Nam, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development and environmental protection.
She agreed that the two countries' relations should focus on a sustainable and equal co-operation aiding their mutual benefits, especially in important fields such as adaptation to climate change - which is an area where Viet Nam is particularly seeking international advice and investment - water resource management, agricultural development and education and training.
The two sides also discussed ways of attracting investment for the infrastructure management of traffic, energy and environmental projects.
Hai also made a visit to Rotterdam Port and the Royal Dutch Shell Group. He called for Viet Nam to work harder to find top world partners to invest in the management of the country's ports, including Cai Mep, Ben Dinh, Vung Ang and Van Phong.
He also confirmed that the Vietnamese government will always support and facilitate foreign enterprises, including the Shell Group, wishing to expand their business activities in the fields of energy and oil and gas. — VNS
