Government to continue anti-corruption crackdown

HA NOI (VNS)— "We are determined to continue the fight against corruption", said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc while receiving a delegation from Thailand's National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday.

Phuc claimed that removing corruption was a top priority when building a professional and modern administration. He praised the five-day visit of the NACC, led by Panthep Klanarongran, and said that it would strengthen friendship and co-operation between Viet Nam and Thailand.

Klanarongran said the NACC and the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam (GIV) had held talks and signed a memorandum of understanding that outlined plans for the two countries to share experiences and provide mutual assistance in the training of anti-corruption personnel.

Phuc praised the agreement and stressed that Viet Nam would continue to create and encourage favourable conditions for cooperative programmes between the two agencies. — VNS
