Lord Mayor of City of London to visit Viet Nam

LONDON (VNS) — The Lord Mayor of the City of London, David Wootton, will lead a delegation of 20 businesspeople to visit Viet Nam this month in an effort to further develop bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Viet Nam and the UK.

David Wootton will visit both Ha Noi and other areas in Viet Nam between September 22-26 after he and his delegation go to China and Hong Kong.

At a briefing to the media last Friday at Mansion House before his trip, the Lord Mayor said that Viet Nam held huge potential investment opportunities for UK businesses, particularly in the area of infrastructure development.

"I hope that the business links forged on this visit will add to Viet Nam and UK's ambitions of increasing two-way trade to US$4 billion by the year 2013 and increasing UK foreign directed investment to Viet Nam," he said. — VNS
