HA NOI — The Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) Party of Poland pushed for a stronger diplomatic bond with Viet Nam's Communist Party yesterday, calling for increased sharing of information and experience during a visit to Ha Noi.

The move came as Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a visiting delegation from Poland's SLD led by its leader Leszek Miller.

Miller, who is also a former Prime Minister, said he hoped the two parties would boost their traditional friendship through increased information exchanges, as well as further co-operation at multilateral political forums.

Applauding Miller's visit, Trong affirmed that the Communist Party of Viet Nam always treasured the traditional relations and cooperation with the SLD Party.

He also expressed his belief that the sound relations between the two parties would continue for many years to come after a memorandum of understanding on co-operation was signed by both sides on the occasion. — VNS
