Terrorism plan ready for action

HA NOI – Viet Nam has issued an action plan to implement the ASEAN Convention on Counter Terrorism (ACCT), specifying the exact responsibilities for each ministry, agency and locality.

The ACCT provides a framework for regional co-operation to counter, prevent and suppress terrorism in all its forms and to deepen links between law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities.

The plan, approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, will start this month.

It will be divided into six parts, including disseminating information on the convention and its laws and setting up co-ordination among ministries, agencies and localities.

The Ministry of Public Securities will be responsible for the work and report to the Prime Minister periodically. – VNS
