HA NOI — The 10th session of the 13th National Assembly Standing Committee opened in Ha Noi yesterday under the chair of NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
According to the Chairman, the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam, and the Chief Government Inspector would answer questions relating to the handling of complaints and bad debts.
In his opening speech, Chairman Hung highly valued relevant agencies' preparation of the contents for discussion at the session.
He said that the committee would look at bills on prevention and mitigation of natural disasters, co-operatives, reconciliation work at local level and the capital city.
The lawmakers would also give their opinions on changes to the joint resolution of the 11th National Assembly's Standing Committee and the Presidium of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front that provided guidelines on NA deputies meeting with voters, he added.
In the afternoon, the NA Standing Committee discussed a draft regulation on celebrating national and memorial holidays.
Members of the committee also discussed a draft regulation on holding national funerals to mark major disasters.
Amendments and supplements to the 1992 Constitution are also on the agenda. The session will finish on August 22.— VNS
