President Sang starts official visit to Russia

HA NOI — President Truong Tan Sang is expected to arrive in Russia today for a five-day official visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The visit, the first by Sang in his position, is expected to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Viet Nam and Russia officially established their diplomatic ties on January 30, 1950. The two countries signed a joint declaration on Viet Nam-Russia strategic partnership in March 2001. — VNS
