Senior Vietnamese diplomat visits North Korea

HA NOI — The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) attaches great importance to traditional friendship and co-operation with Viet Nam, said Kim Yong-nam, President of North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly.

Consolidating and strengthening relations with Viet Nam is the DPRK's consistent policy, Kim told visiting Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son at a reception in Pyongyang yesterday.

He proposed that both countries increase the exchange of high-level contacts and co-operative exchanges between sectors to promote mutual understanding and confidence. — VNS
