Cuban leader Raul Castro to visit Viet Nam

Cuban leader Raul Castro
HA NOI — Raul Castro, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Council of State and the President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, will officially visit Viet Nam between July 8-9 at the invitation of Viet Nam's Party and Government leaders.

This is Castro's first visit in his current positions since bilateral relations continued to develop significantly after Party Leader Nguyen Phu Trong's official visit to Cuba in April.

Viet Nam and Cuba established diplomatic relations in December 1960.

Currently, both sides are co-operating in many areas, especially in agriculture, telecommunications, oil and gas, tourism, infrastructure, education and training. — VNS
