Japanese city of Ohtawara aims to boost ties with Da Nang

DA NANG — The administration of Ohtawara City – the capital of Tochigi, Japan – will seek a future co-operation with the central coastal city of Da Nang in fields of education, agriculture and technology, president of Ohtawara Community Council Takasaki Kazuo said during a working visit to Da Nang yesterday.

"We plan to host an exchanging programme for Vietnamese and Japanese students in Ohtawara and we expect the participation of Da Nang city's students," Kazuo said.

Vice chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said education was the key to building quality human resources for the city's development as a centre of hi-tech, tourism and service in future.

"The city planned to build a 1,100ha hi-tech park and a 150ha concentrated information technology park." Tuan said. — VNS
