Public inspectors lauded for their efforts, achievements

HA NOI— Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday praised the achievements and efforts of the inspectorate sector in the first six months of 2011.

Speaking at a meeting to review state inspector performance in the first half of the year, Phuc acknowledged their outstanding work in handling the citizen complaints and denunciations, particularly on hot issues that captured public attention.

"As inspectors, you're worthy to become the mainstay of the Party, Government and people," Phuc said.

He asked participants to co-operate with relevant agencies in implementing the Resolution of the 5th Plenum of the Party Central Committee, completing the revising of the Anti-Corruption Law and the draft Law on Receiving and Handling Citizen Complaints to present to the next meeting of the National Assembly.

In addition, he asked inspector to further engage in State administration activities, take responsibility in corruption prevention and be pro-active in conducting inspection missions in accordance with the law. — VNS
