President farewells outgoing Australian ambassador

HA NOI — President Truong Tan Sang farewelled outgoing Australian ambassador Allaster Cox in Ha Noi yesterday.

He congratulated Cox on being awarded Vietnamese medals for the cause of healthcare and education as well as the Friendship Medal.

Sang said the medals were in recognition of the ambassador's great contribution to bilateral ties.

In response, Cox praised Viet Nam's development, especially in the fields of diplomacy, politics, infrastructure investment, education and healthcare, and he predicted greater development to come.

Cox was awarded the Friendship Medal earlier yesterday. — VNS
