HA NOI — Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday affirmed that Viet Nam would do its best to preserve and develop its special relationship with Laos for the benefit of both countries.

He made the statement at a reception for Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee Chansy Phosikham during his working visit to Viet Nam.

Phosikham informed his host of co-operative results between the two parties.

He affirmed that the two Commissions for Personnel and Organisation of the two Parties would co-operate closely to implement their agreements, making them bear fruit.

Trong expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, its people would continue to gain new achievements in implementing the 9th Party Congress Resolution and the 7th five-year socio-economic development plan.

Trong said he hoped that both commissions would increase the exchange of experience in personnel training at all levels, and implementing agreements.

On the same day, To Huy Rua, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee also held talks with Phosikham.

The two sides exchanged information related to Party building work and the implementation of co-operative programmes in the 2011-15 period. — VNS
