Deputy Minister greets Lao military official

HA NOI — Deputy Minister of Defence Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Chi Vinh yesterday received Lao Army General Logistics and Technique Department director Suphet Phayvisit.

Vinh told his guest the Viet Nam People's Army was implementing substantial activities to mark Viet Nam-Laos Friendship Year 2012, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam-Laos diplomatic ties and the 35th year of the signing of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship and Comprehensive Co-operation Treaty.

For his part, Suphet Phayvisit informed his host of the results of his talks with Lieutenant-General Nguyen Chau Thanh, director of the army's Technological General Department.

He affirmed that the Lao Party, State, army and people always bore in mind the service and assistance of the Vietnamese Party, State, army and people to Laos during the national liberation cause and national building process. — VNS
